Saint Clair Drive

Howard and Angie live in a colonial brick home in Charlotte, NC. They got engaged at a Kenny G concert and have been crawling through Parisian art galleries and drinking their way through Barcelona's Gothic Quarter ever since. Over gin tonics, they told me how they struggled to create a home that would unify their eclectic art collection. The couple spends much of their free time entertaining, so comfort and maximizing space was a must. Check out how we made this colonial artfully chic.

Lounge

This room is quite the trio: splitting its time as Howard's office, a music room, and morphs into a cocktail lounge in the evenings. Velvet, gold trims, and plush wools add a luxurious gleam that's perfect for fireside drinks and work calls alike.

Dining

Angie and Howard love to experiment making healthy, organic meals for their large gatherings. So, it's no surprise that this dining room spotlights a sizable table. Monochromatic and lush green details ensure guests dine in style.

powder room

Pops of color and subtle details add an element of fun to this cozy powder room. Here, textured wallpaper plays off a gold ceiling to make the space feel larger. The candy apple red trash bin adds a touch of the couple's quirky charm.

FIRESIDE CHATS

Whether it’s for cocktail hour or after dinner drinks, this sitting area does not disappoint. A mid-century modern couch sits across from twin velvet swivel chairs, giving this room effortless luxury. Cozy, textured pillows add a touch of blue to the space to provide contrast for the room’s gold hues.

Party of eight

This table is a showstopper. And to make it the focal point of the space, we used white tableware on the dark surface and created some interesting contrast. The minimal style makes it easy to rotate holiday and everyday decorations.

third time's a charm

Grouping identical design elements into threes is a simple way to add a lot of style without breaking the bank. These green candles bring more color to the space with candlesticks at several heights.

Glow up

This chandelier brings light and sound into the room. The swaying capiz shells send light dancing around the room, and dainty clinks are heard as they collide with vibration on the floor above.

SHINE BRIGHT

Because the powder room is a little light on square footage, maximizing the space was our goal. Floor-to-ceiling, textured wallpaper meets a gold gilded ceiling to give the illusion of height.

PATTERN PLAY

Texture was a key element in this space. Although we didn't have the space for many surfaces and details, I layered the room with various textures to create a lighthearted atmosphere.
